PixelZoomer: Firefox Extension For Measuring Pixels, Zooming And Grabbing Colors

PixelZoomer is a very handy Firefox extension for web developers which can replace the step of taking screenshots of a web page and pasting it into an image editing software for making pixel-perfect measurements.

Once it is activated (clicking an icon at the bottom of Firefox), a custom window with the web page screenshot is loaded.

Useful Collection of WordPress Plugins for Bloggers.

To handle a blog these days can be quite difficult if you are not well-organized and you don’t spend enough time managing it. That’s why there are plugins for WordPress. They literally make your job lot easier and if you work well with them you can put them to work for you.

Akismet

Akismet is a perfect spam catcher. Not sure how they do this, but 99% of spam comments will get under I’ve had the problem with Akismet only once actually shortly after installation. For some reason it was recognizing uberVU – social comments (the post mentions on twitter) as spam but once I approved it, the Akismet learned the algorithm and now it’s saving me from hundreds of funky comments. There’s also a cool option to “Automatically discard spam comments on posts older than a month” which means that spam comments for the early posts won’t even be added to the Spam” section of blog comments, they will be deleted automatically.

Since I use Chrome most of the time, I gathered 5 browser extensions which I think most Chrome users will appreciate. These extensions facilitate users in different ways, from saving our browsing sessions and managing our tabs to letting us choose hotkey shortcuts.  With the introduction of Google Chrome, the community has made some amazing extensions which are very easy to use for every day work.

FireBug Lite

This allows you to inspect the HTML, CSS, Javascript code without leaving the page. You’re also able to edit the code without any problems and test the new changes immediately.

If you use Firefox, you’ll know this is the most popular Firefox extension among web developers. For now, FireBug Lite is not as advanced as its Firefox counterpart. However, I’m sure that will change in the near future. Continue reading
